Fostering

Foster homes are a critical part of our life-saving efforts. When you foster a pet, you create much-needed space in the shelter and give an animal the individualized care they need to thrive.

Every spring and summer, we need kitten fosters to help us through "kitten season," when hundreds of fragile kittens come through our doors.

We also have a year-round need for dog fosters - especially for dogs recovering from surgery, managing medical conditions, or benefiting from a calmer home environment to work on behavior and socialization.

If you’re interested in fostering a shelter dog, the first step is applying to become a volunteer and signing up for a virtual orientation with our volunteer coordinator.
